Property agency in Ibiza: the shared name problem

When three companies in the same sector share a similar name, none of them accumulates enough signal. This case is about separating an entity from its namesakes.

Property agency in Ibiza: the shared name problem

The problem

An agency specialising in seasonal villa rentals in the north of Ibiza, trading under a two word name it shared with an agency in Alicante and a developer in Valencia. Asked about the brand, the systems mixed all three: they gave one the location of another and the founding year of the third.

This is probably the most expensive failure in the entity layer, because all later work scatters across the wrong candidates. And it is invisible from the inside: the business knows perfectly well who it is.

How an entity is separated

Anchor to the municipality, not the island or the province

Ibiza on its own does not distinguish. Sant Joan de Labritja does, because neither of the other two companies can claim it.

Add an activity qualifier the others do not have

Property agency is common to all three. Seasonal villa rental separates, because the other two do sales and development.

Fix the legal form in the name

Carrying the full registered name in formal sources gives the system a unique string with no possible ambiguity.

Repeat the full combination everywhere

Name, legal form, municipality and speciality always together, in the same order, in every new source. Consistency is what makes mentions accumulate on the same entity.

Placement

Four titles, all property or area focused, each reinforcing the full combination from a different angle: the seasonal rental market in the north of the island, the architecture of restored country villas, a directory listing with registry data, and a front page frontlink on the area title.

The signal that it is working

In a namesake case the metric that matters is not the appearance rate but the accuracy of the descriptor. The control question is direct: ask for the brand name and check whether the system returns the right municipality and the right speciality. When it stops mixing the three companies, the entity layer is resolved and the rest is worth working on.
